For more then twenty years, Subaru has actively supported our communities through both corporate financial and volunteer investment.  The people of Subaru of America, Inc. help make our neighborhoods better places to live and work.  We believe we can make a difference by investing in programs that enable success in individuals and their communities.

Investments at Subaru focus on education, arts, environmental, and health programs.  We take pride in our participation in our region's most worthwhile causes.  We strive to function as an active corporate neighbor by partnering with many organizations that help our citizens enjoy an enhanced quality of life.

Our search for impactful programs is a proactive one.  Though we do not accept unsolicited proposals, we examine many investment opportunities ensuring our aid is well-intended.  Our corporation assists programs that would most benefit from our assistance.

New Jersey State Safety Council
Our partnership with the NJ State Safety Council includes sponsorship of the Alive at 25 Program.  It is a comprehensive training and educational program that reaches community leaders, law enforcement, educators, parents and teens with the goal of helping young adults become safer drivers.

Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital
The Cruisin' Not Boozin' program, hosted by Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital (Malvern, PA), is an award-winning program that helps young drivers understand the dangers of impaired driving.  Subaru has invested in this program for more than 10 years.  It is presented to high school through college-age students in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware and features testimony from young people personally affected by the harsh consequences of impaired driving.  It helps young people see first-hand the impact impaired driving has on their lives as well as the lives of their families and friends. www.mainlinehealth.org/cnb

Philadelphia Academies
Philadelphia Academies, Inc., a non-profit organization partnership with Philadelphia (PA) public schools, helps prepare high school students for employment and post-secondary education through career-focused programs.  The academies are schools-within-schools where the curriculum is themed to a particular career and students receive practical hands-on study as well as have access to professionals in the respective field.   Academies include automotive, business and info technology, communications, electrical tech, environmental tech and horticulture, health, hotel and tourism, urban education and process control technology.  Visit www.academiesinc.org to learn more.

Earth Flag
Subaru Great Lakes Region (Itasca, IL) celebrated the attainment of an Earth Flag for Business award for its dedication to protecting and preserving the environment.  The recognition followed a year-long initiative with SCARCE (School and Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education), which included environmental education, modification of business practices, and implementation of several recycle, reduce, and reuse strategies.  Environmental stewardship is a core corporate value, is an ongoing process, and requires the commitment of every Subaru team member.

Itasca Police Force
Subaru of America, Inc. recently donated a 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI to the Itasca (IL) Police Department to help promote safe driving.  The unit was featured during the 2008 National Night Out event hosted by the Itasca Police Department.  The National Night Out program has been extraordinarily successful in promoting involvement in crime and drug prevention activities, strengthening police-community relations, and encouraging neighborhood camaraderie as part of the fight for safer streets.  Members of the Great Lake Region team worked a booth during the event where proceeds from items auctioned at the booth benefited the local food pantry.

BOLD Youth Program

Southwest Region (Denver, CO) has worked with the BOLD Youth Program, a Colorado based non-profit organization.   In its third year of operation, BOLD also known as "Building on Life's Disappointments", works with youth and young adults from all around the United States.  Most recently, BOLD has hosted young participants from the Hurricane Katrina area and from the Platte Canyon/Bailey, CO region.  These participants were impacted by their local man-made and natural disasters.  Through their connection with the BOLD Youth program, they found ways to overcome and resolve their lives through development of character and leadership.   In addition to a small monetary contribution, the Southwest Region became involved by organizing a donation of new and used sports equipment and attire that BOLD Youth distributes for those programs.  Learn more about the organization at www.boldyouth.org.
